I vividly remember the day I got the Masters of Scale App, it has turned out to be 1 of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I was handed, on a silver platter, the hard-won wisdom of Silicon Valley’s most accomplished people, the sort of wisdom no business school will ever teach you, yes not even GSB or Harvard unless you happen to find a mentor and a similar community there.
I think Reid Hoffman is doing a service to humanity, he is selflessly giving what he knows about business to anyone in the world wise enough to care.
The ideas which make Silicon Valley is the sort of fearlessness in setting big goals, the sort of confidence which will be thought of as crazy in other parts of the world.
This “Mindset of Scale” is now available to anyon people in every corner of the world.
This mindset will enable entrepreneurs across the world to think big and most importantly run their businesses the Silicon Valley way, this will create economic opportunity for billions of people.
The impact will be felt for a long time to come although not as today, just as PayPal’s dominance of online payments market at the time wasn’t apparent in it’s early days.
However, I think perhaps 20-25 years from now, when people will revisit this post, perhaps listen to it or read it off of a sustainable printing service (I think audio and print will become the preferred way of consuming content, in future, work will be done remotely from big parks/golf courses where people will prioritise getting sunlight as much as possible, working in huddles under trees, sipping on lemon tea) in high probability, they will already know someone who has successfully created value by benefiting directly on indirectly from the Masters of Scale.
I discovered Masters of Scale by listening to the Tim Ferris Show.
Most people think Tim Ferriss is interviewing world-class performers and deconstructing their secrets for the masses, while in reality I think he’s recording human history in a time which will go down in human history as a technological-renaissance.
